Ellman is the candidate who will best represent NY-24
Alissa Ellman won the Democratic primay on June 23rd. She now goes on to face the terrible Claudia Tenney in the general election in November.
A win for Ellman in the fall would benefit the district in many ways. The most important is that a D win in NY24 would very likely be part of a return of the Republicans to the minority. That switch would limit how much damage the House can do to democracy in the next Congress. Tenney has been all to willing to give up Congress' responsibility and authority under the Constitution, responsibilities that are essential to the checks and balances that make our government work.
Ellman would be a positive switch from a Member of Congress who consistently votes for things that hurt the district. Some of Tenney's most harmful votes are in reducing support for health care so that local hospitals have had to close. Many people have lost access to health insurance and can't pay.
Tenney voted against the Respect for Marriage Act, which protects the rights for gay couples to marry. That vote shows her hostility to her gay constituents. Even New York's most conservative representatives went so far as to vote against this legislation.
Tenney consistently votes against measures to protect election integrity and voting rights. We must conclude that she doesn't want the people of the district to decide who represents them. These votes are the height of disrespect for constituents. Ellman want good goverment, one where everyone has a voice. And those who should have a vote really do.
Even though this district is quite conservative, Ellman has a good shot at beating someone who does such a bad job for the district. Ellman is an excellent candidate for NY-24 and should appeal broadly. Her background is well representativee of the typical NY-24 resident, she grew up here, served her country in the Army, came back to start a family, and has educated special-needs children.

Ellman wants to serve the district well. She has dedicated her life to service, to the aspiration is completely consistent. Tenney on the other hand, shows no sign of even knowing what service is, never mind serving her constituents. She has instead been beholden to the president eagerly enabling his usurpation of power and propagating his disinformation.
