...and justice for all

  This familar line, from our American pledge of allegiance commits us to assuring that justice is available to everyone. The present administration is violating that commitment. The fourth amendment to the US Constitution, ratified in 1791, states that “ The right of the  people  to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” Although the Constitution and its amendments uses the word “citizen” 24 times, it is not used here.     Instead, the word used is “people” – a very intentional choice, that extends protections of the Fourth Amendment to citizens and non-citizens alike.  Representative Tenney's frequent demonization of people in her distirict reveals that she does not share this fundamental Ame...

In an effort to introduce ourselves to the community in Seneca County, ads will appear in the Seneca County Area Shopper . They will feature some familiar values that we hope are widely shared by Seneca County residents. We are concerned that they appear not to be shared by Congresswoman Tenney. 

Make Good Trouble July 17

Make Good Trouble! In honor of the anniversary of John Lewis’s passing, there are a lot of demonstrations and honk-and-waves for the purpose of Making Good Trouble. Three opportunites! Seneca Falls 1:00-3:00 PM 136 Fall St, Women's Rights National Park, Seneca Falls. Please wear BLUE, John Lewis' favorite color. Donations of school supplies (backpacks, snacks, personal hygiene items, new kids' clothing) will go to the Rotary Club for their Back-to-School Party on 7/26. Organized by FLX Roar and 50501. Geneva 5:30-7:30PM at the Lakefront, routes 5&20. Watkins Glen 6:30-7:30PM in front of Schuyler County Courthouse, North Franklin St (between 9th & 10th Sts), Watkins Glen. Please bring signs about preserving our civil rights including our right to vote! Donations of non-perishable food items for the local pantry will be greatly appreciated.
